Job Summary

As a Pharmacy Technician - Specialty Pharmacy at Baptist Memorial Health Care, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to patients with complex medical conditions. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct benefits investigations, including coordination with payers to verify patient coverage and out-of-pocket costs
  • Provide timely and accurate information regarding coverage and cost to patients and team members
  • Initiate and manage prior authorization processes for new specialty prescriptions
  • Support pharmacists in managing appeals processes for patients and ensure timely communication
  • Understand CMS regulations and billing guidelines, and complete required training
  • Answer insurance and billing questions, and provide feedback to management on contracting opportunities and process improvements
  • Obtain necessary paperwork and financial information for patients seeking financial assistance
  • Conduct research on available sources of funding and resources for patients
  • Process new and refill prescriptions accurately, using proper equipment and techniques
  • Provide superb customer service to patients and medical/nursing staff
  • Monitor inventory levels, cleanliness, and organization of the pharmacy
  • Participate in departmental process or quality improvement initiatives
Requirements
  • Valid Pharmacy Technician License in TN and Pharmacy Technician Certificate (CPhT)
  • 5 years experience in outpatient pharmacy or clinic setting
