Position Summary

Role Overview: The incumbent will be responsible for the upkeep and cleanliness of the college's facilities, including both buildings and outdoor areas. Duties will include snow removal and completing assigned maintenance tasks both independently and collaboratively. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the Facility Operations Manager and Physical Plant Director, particularly during peak periods or emergencies.
Work Schedule: The standard hours for this position are 11:30 AM to 8:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend and holiday shifts required for snow removal or urgent cleaning tasks.
Compensation: A stipend of $25 per pay period is provided for those working the 2 PM to 10:30 PM shift.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to the College's core values of Learning, Excellence, Accountability, Diversity, Student Success, Teamwork, Integrity, and Respect. Regular attendance is essential.
- Complete all mandatory training and maintain the necessary skills to fulfill the essential functions of the role as outlined by the department.
- Support student success by being flexible and willing to assist in various areas as needed.
- Cleaning and Maintenance Duties:
- Perform floor care including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming, as well as stain treatment and carpet extraction.
- Dust and sanitize surfaces, including restrooms and drinking fountains, following established protocols.
- Maintain cleanliness of elevators and perform general cleaning tasks.
- Execute emergency and project-related cleaning as required.
- Snow Removal Duties:
- Operate snow removal equipment such as skid steers and pickup trucks with plows.
- Shovel walkways and apply ice melter as necessary.
- Transport snow to off-campus locations using appropriate vehicles.
- Work Order Management:
- Assist with grounds maintenance and furniture or equipment relocation.
- Support skilled trades and vehicle maintenance tasks.
- Utilize computer systems for operating cleaning equipment and managing tasks.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma
- Technical College education
- One year of experience in a custodial or related role
- Physical assessment (ability to lift 45 lbs and stand for extended periods)
- Hearing baseline test and annual audiogram
- Valid Driver's License
