Job Summary:

The New Jewish Home is seeking a highly skilled Therapeutic Recreation Supervisor to oversee and coordinate all aspects of our Therapeutic Recreation program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate program delivery in conjunction with the Associate Director.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records and communicate with clients and caregivers regarding attendance.
  • Develop, prepare, and deliver programs and activities tailored to the needs and interests of our clients.
  • Direct staff in program-related tasks and ensure the receipt of petty cash and supplies.
  • Manage recreation supplies within budget and coordinate special events and outings.
  • Communicate concerns to the Director and prepare monthly and weekly activity schedules.
  • Implement new initiatives and ensure activities meet the needs of our population.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to program development and improvement.
  • Orient and oversee volunteers and activities.
  • Trend concerns and discuss strategies for program improvement.
  • Engage in marketing and networking initiatives for the program.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Therapeutic Recreation or a related field (preferred).
  • Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience working with older and/or intellectually challenged adults.
  • 2 years of supervisory experience, including oversight of a Therapeutic Recreation program.
