PurposeEnergy is a leading company in the field of organic waste treatment, and we are seeking a highly skilled Wastewater Treatment Specialist to join our team. As a Wastewater Treatment Specialist, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining our anaerobic digester pretreatment facilities, ensuring the efficient treatment of industrial food and beverage waste. Your expertise will be crucial in optimizing facility throughput, managing feedstock volume, and maximizing renewable energy production.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and maintain the quality of treated effluent, ensuring compliance with state and local wastewater permits.
  • Optimize facility throughput, including feedstock volume, effluent volume, and renewable energy production.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and provide routine reporting.
  • Inventory control of consumables, such as chemicals, reagents, and spare parts.
  • Oversee the biological process, feedstock receiving, hydraulic pumping, chemical feed systems, filtration systems, phosphorus sequestration, dewatered solids removal, and biogas utilization system.
Qualifications:
  • Current Vermont Grade II Industrial Wastewater Treatment Operator certificate.
  • Three years of relevant experience as an operator, in RNG, construction, and/or in industrial maintenance.
  • Familiarity with mechanical and electrical systems, and ability to assist/work on pumps, piping, electric motors, generators, instruments, and basic building maintenance.
  • Experience with the use of PLC's, controls, and instruments (pressure, temperature, flow, pH).
  • Basic computer skills, including spreadsheets, email, PDF's, document downloading, ordering, cost reporting, & timesheets.
