Position Overview

The Lead Behavioral Health Therapist plays a crucial role in delivering individualized, group, and family therapy to clients as needed. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, including the Medical Director, Site Director, fellow Counselors, and Nursing personnel, this position is dedicated to ensuring the comprehensive safety and wellbeing of clients. The primary objective is to meet the needs of Medicaid patients undergoing treatment for Opioid Use Disorder.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct individual, group, and family counseling sessions.
  • Work collaboratively with a diverse team to support patient care.
  • Focus on the specific needs of patients receiving treatment for substance use disorders.

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree with full licensure as a Clinician.
  • Preferred: A minimum of 2 years of experience in behavioral health settings.
  • At least a Bachelor Level SUD License, LMSW, or LMHC is required.

Essential Experience:

  • In-depth understanding of addiction and mental health issues, including harm reduction strategies.
  • Familiarity with community health resources that enhance physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual wellbeing.
  • Proficient in networking and collaborating with healthcare and social service agencies.
  • Knowledge of the 12-Step Recovery Program and its application in treatment.
  • Strong problem-solving, stress management, ethical decision-making, and team-building skills.

Knowledge Requirements:

  • Comprehensive understanding of the effects of alcohol and other drugs on individuals and families.
  • Able to assess medical emergencies and respond appropriately.
  • Familiarity with emergency protocols for substance overdose situations.
  • Awareness of the stages of withdrawal and the necessary interventions at each stage.
  • Knowledge of relevant Federal, State, and Municipal regulations regarding addiction treatment, including confidentiality and patient rights.
  • Understanding of health risks associated with airborne and bloodborne pathogens, along with risk reduction strategies.

Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and responsibilities is essential for success in this role.
