We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Academic Advising Administrator to join our team at Sul Ross State University. As a key member of our academic support team, you will provide expert guidance and support to students, faculty, and staff, ensuring a seamless and successful academic experience.
Key Responsibilities- Provide personalized academic advising to students, helping them navigate university policies, procedures, and academic requirements.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to develop and implement retention strategies, ensuring students stay on track to achieve their academic goals.
- Manage and maintain accurate records, files, and databases, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with university policies.
- Serve as a liaison between students, faculty, and staff, resolving issues and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Develop and implement programs to enhance student engagement, retention, and success, working closely with campus partners and community organizations.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3 years of administrative experience in higher education, with a focus on student support and retention.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to student success.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and other relevant software applications.
- Master's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Experience working with diverse student populations, including first-generation, low-income, and underrepresented groups.
- Knowledge of university policies, procedures, and regulations, with a focus on student conduct, academic integrity, and retention.
- Experience with data analysis, reporting, and assessment, with a focus on student success metrics.
