About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Product Engineer to join our core Druid Engine team at Imply USA LLC. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving the growth of both open-source and Imply distribution of Apache Druid.

Key Responsibilities
  • Meet with a diverse set of users to understand how they are creating value and where their frustrations are.
  • Contribute to building one of the fastest database engines in the world.
  • Support our EMEA and USA East customers.
  • Communicate with leadership proactively and clearly articulate trade-offs/options for critical decisions.
  • Take a proactive role in the marketing of product capabilities and training the field on how to sell.
  • Track customer adoption metrics of their features and work to improve those.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of product management experience in building database, data science, and other backend infrastructure products.
  • Able to explain how a SQL query works from query to file-level access.
  • Educational or professional background in computer science or related engineering fields.
  • Track record of delivering products with cross-functional teams common to enterprise software industry (field engineering, sales, marketing, partnerships, etc.).
  • Analytical skills to make data-driven decisions (e.g. analyze product usage).
Bonus Points
  • Worked on Apache open-source projects before.
  • Has basic understanding of how various cloud providers work and knows what terms such as ec2, gcp, OIDC mean.

Individual compensation will be determined based on the candidate's experience and qualifications aligned with Imply's internal leveling guidelines and benchmarks.
