We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Nursing Assistant to join our team in the Geriatric Psychiatric Unit. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Assist patients with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Provide direct patient care, including vital sign checks, medication administration, and wound care.
- Observe and record patient behavior and activities, reporting any changes to nursing staff and suggesting modifications to the treatment plan.
- Provide crisis intervention and support to patients and families in need.
- Facilitate psychoeducational groups and support patient education.
- High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare, Psychology, or related field preferred.
- Minimum six months of experience working with geriatric patients or completion of Peer Support Specialist Training or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire; American Heart Association First Aid certification within 30 days of hire (not required for CNA).
- Handle With Care certification within 90 days of hire.
- Nursing Assistant certification required; CNA certification required for CNA/MHA role.
