Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Radiologic Imaging Specialist to join our team at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. As a key member of our radiology department, you will be responsible for performing radiologic imaging procedures for patients from various facilities, ensuring high-quality images and excellent patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Receive and interpret physicians' orders for radiologic imaging, scheduling patients and coordinating with nursing staff to ensure preparatory procedures are completed.
2. Perform routine and advanced radiologic work using stationary or portable x-ray equipment, positioning patients and selecting proper imaging modes.
3. Conduct quality control of radiologic examinations, inspecting and reviewing exposed films for technical quality and repeating x-rays as needed.
4. Maintain schedules for delivery of supplies and preventative maintenance of equipment, ensuring all x-ray and processing equipment is working properly.
5. Perform administrative functions, including scheduling advanced imaging studies and maintaining patient files and logs.

Requirements:
Knowledge of Performance Improvement procedures and standards
Knowledge of TDH policies and procedures as they relate to radiology
Knowledge of anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, and radiography principles
Skill in operation and care of x-ray and processing equipment, interpretation of tube rating and cooling charts, and patient positioning techniques
Ability to maintain records and logs, communicate with patients and staff, and work independently or as part of a team

Working Conditions:
This position may require driving a state vehicle to perform portable radiographic studies and transporting films to UHS for interpretation. Participates on hospital committees as assigned and may act as lead worker, coordinating and assigning work to other Radiologic Technicians and Radiologic Assistants.

Education and Experience:
A high school diploma or equivalent and completion of a radiologic technology program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) are required. A valid Texas driver's license and completion of Defensive Drivers Classes are also required.
