We are looking for a skilled Engineer with expertise in Instrumentation and Process Control to become a vital part of our Project Management team. The Project Management Teams at Aramco Services Company are tasked with delivering top-tier capital projects. They play a crucial role in executing and overseeing assigned projects, ensuring safety, adherence to timelines, budget constraints, and maintaining the highest standards of integrity and compliance.

The primary responsibility of this role is to guarantee that engineering design, procurement, construction, and project completion align with project objectives and contractual obligations, including project timelines, costs, health, safety, and environmental standards, as well as company policies and procedures. This position also involves analyzing both new and existing refining and petrochemical facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee capital projects in accordance with defined scope, timelines, and budgetary constraints.
  • Conduct complex technical and administrative tasks related to the design and coordination of specialized controls and instrumentation systems.
  • Provide technical insights and review the design, construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and startup phases of facilities.
  • Address technical challenges that arise during all project phases concerning Instrumentation and Process Control components.
  • Manage project development tasks, including engineering studies, technical bid evaluations, preliminary engineering, detailed designs, materials procurement, construction, pre-commissioning, handover, commissioning, and startup activities.
  • Review and contribute to the Functional Specification for Process Control Systems and Field Instrumentation to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Supervise General Engineering Services (GES) design contractor activities during Pre-FEED and FEED phases, defining project scope and scheduling requirements.
  • Maintain familiarity with international project phase procedures, engineering phases, bidding processes, procurement protocols, construction requirements, and current best practices.
  • Thoroughly understand contract documents, project execution plans, interface management, change management, construction sequencing, standards specifications, and project schedules to assist project managers in achieving timely project completion.
  • Monitor and resolve daily contractor activities related to assigned projects during construction, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Contribute to the development of Instrumentation and Process Control deliverables, including Block Diagrams, Single Line Diagrams, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams, and more.
  • Provide design input for the identification, sizing, selection, and procurement of field instrumentation, including control valves.
  • Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) for Process Control Systems and address any technical issues prior to shipment.
  • Conduct Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) and Integration Site Acceptance Tests (ISAT) for all Process Control Systems, resolving any arising technical issues.
  • Define change order scopes, estimate costs, and assist the Project Manager in the change management process.
  • Review project status reports, including costs and schedules, and participate in project meetings.
  • Coordinate and monitor project progress, addressing any performance issues with contractors.
  • Review and monitor invoices and contractor submissions against actual progress.
  • Implement project reporting and company initiatives during project execution.
  • Review design modifications related to Instrumentation and Process Control for facilities.
  • Provide ongoing support for Instrumentation and Process Control design and construction to facilities.
  • Develop and review testing and commissioning procedures for Instrumentation and Process Control equipment.
  • Stay informed about leading equipment manufacturers, international standards, and value improvement practices.
  • Uphold engineering ethics and maintain high standards of professional conduct.

Qualifications:

  1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering; a higher degree is preferred.
  2. Experience: At least 15 years of experience in the refining and petrochemical sectors, with a specialization in Instrumentation and Process Control.
  3. Field Experience: Minimum of 5 years of field experience, including construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, startup, and operational phases.
  4. Language Skills: Proficient in English, both verbal and written; no additional language is required.
  5. Other Requirements: Must possess Engineering Design and Construction phase experience, with comprehensive knowledge of engineering practices and economic principles in line with international codes and standards. Expertise in specific control and instrumentation disciplines is essential.
  6. Additional Attributes: A proactive approach to project improvements and cost savings; PMP Certification is advantageous but not mandatory. Flexibility to work in diverse teams and adapt to various locations as required.
