Position Overview:
The Kitchen Steward plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas. This position is essential for ensuring that all kitchenware, including dishes, utensils, and equipment, are sanitized and ready for use.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, and utensils using both manual and machine methods.
  • Maintain cleanliness in all kitchen work areas, ensuring that equipment and utensils are orderly and hygienic.
  • Organize and store clean dishes and cooking tools in designated areas.
  • Regularly sort and dispose of waste, ensuring proper disposal methods are followed.
  • Assist in food preparation tasks as directed by the culinary team.
  • Conduct regular inspections of kitchenware for damage or cleanliness, reporting any issues to the kitchen management.
  • Adhere to food safety and sanitation protocols to maintain a safe working environment.

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Prior experience in a similar role is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Completion of Food Safety and Sanitation Training is required upon hiring.

Working Conditions:
This role requires standing for extended periods, lifting heavy items, and working in a fast-paced environment. The Kitchen Steward must be prepared to work in varying temperatures and conditions typical of a kitchen setting.
