Paraprofessional, KIPP Bayview Academy Support Staff

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Paraprofessional to join our team at KIPP Bayview Academy. As a Paraprofessional, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and behavioral needs of our students.
Key Responsibilities- Assist students in small groups or one-on-one to reinforce learning activities in core academic subjects.
- Implement behavior intervention plans, utilizing positive reinforcement strategies and behavior modification techniques.
- Foster social interactions and develop positive relationships between students with disabilities and their non-disabled peers.
- Model appropriate behavior and attitudes, providing emotional support and guidance to students.
- Support students on field trips and school assemblies, ensuring their active participation and engagement.
- Provide testing accommodations, supervising students during extended testing periods.
- Maintain accurate data trackers and student progress records, providing the Education Specialist with regular updates.
- Establish and maintain a clean, safe, and cooperative classroom environment.
- Assist physically disabled students with personal hygiene and grooming functions.
- Report suspected health problems to school personnel and maintain confidentiality of student records.
- Paid or volunteer experience working with individuals with academic, behavioral, or functional needs is preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent, and a minimum of 48 units in process, or a passing score on the ETS ParaPro Assessment.
- Strong content area knowledge, communication skills, and ability to build relationships with students, families, and communities.
- Proficient knowledge of Google Suite applications and ability to learn instructional technology.
- Bilingual in languages reflecting our student populations is preferred.
This is a full-time, 40-hour a week, non-exempt position based on a school year calendar cycle and time off policy. The role is paid over a 12-month period, including scheduled school breaks and summer break.
