We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Design Assistant to join our team at Dreamwear Inc, a leading wholesale intimate apparel and sleepwear company. As a Design Assistant, you will play a crucial role in establishing trends, color, and style direction for our seasonal and customer-driven lines.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Conducting market research to identify seasonal trends, colors, prints, and silhouettes to support our senior design team.
- Preparing and sending technical development packages, including construction details, sketches, fabrications, trims, print, and color details.
- Corresponding with overseas factories regarding production and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products.
- Assisting designers with the trim and fabric library, color palettes, and flat sketching.
- Working closely with the senior team to ensure artwork is sized correctly and colors are chosen accordingly.
- Executing production packages, including color and trim specifications, and preparing production-ready print and graphic artwork.
- Tracking and following up on development and fabric sourcing.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A fashion degree or equivalent experience.
- Internship experience in the fashion industry, preferably in design or related fields.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Excel.
- A positive attitude, strong teamwork skills, and excellent communication and follow-up skills.
- The ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.
