Position: Senior Electrical Validation Engineer

Contract Duration: 1 year

Key Responsibilities:

This role involves spearheading the creation and implementation of electrical validation testing strategies for SERDES interfaces associated with high-performance CPUs and add-in cards. Core duties include:

  • Diagnosing issues within failing test plans and/or SERDES interfaces.
  • Configuring and fine-tuning SERDES parameters to achieve optimal link performance.
  • Providing consistent progress reports using presentation tools.
  • Evaluating test outcomes and deciding on subsequent actions for validation and experimentation.
  • Utilizing high-speed oscilloscopes and related apparatus to assess and test high-speed ASIC I/O.
  • Executing and/or overseeing the execution of I/O characterization testing protocols.
  • Creating and troubleshooting automation for benchtop testing workflows.
  • Designing and interpreting scripts in Python or a comparable language to streamline and automate testing sequences.
  • Developing and troubleshooting firmware within an embedded system context.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with at least 4 years of experience.
  • Laboratory Expertise: Profound knowledge of signal integrity principles and best practices, encompassing ISI, jitter, eye diagrams, transmission line theory, and proficiency in high-speed digital oscilloscope operation.
  • Specialized Knowledge: Familiarity with electrical layer analysis for high-speed Ethernet and/or PCI Express is advantageous.
  • Programming Skills: Competence in C, C++, or Python.
  • Laboratory Environment: Experience in a benchtop laboratory setting.
  • Leadership Experience: Proven track record in an engineering leadership role.
  • Collaborative Skills: Ability to work effectively across various organizational units.
