Steel Fabricator/Welder Position

Steel Forgings Inc. (SFI) is a leading manufacturer of custom butt weld fittings that has been servicing the oil and gas industry for over 70 years. SFI is seeking an experienced cylinder welder to join the SFI team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Weld manufactured cylinder pipe using various welding processes, including SMAW, FCAW, and SAW.
  • Weld per engineering specifications and adhere to manufacturing standard operating procedures.
  • Perform visual and in-process weld inspections in accordance with API and ISO quality specifications.
  • Collaborate with the team to diagnose, troubleshoot, and solve welding problems that enhance productivity.
  • Pass periodic welding tests and qualifications in compliance with qualification procedures.
  • Perform load rigging, torch cutting, and grinding as needed.
  • Verify accuracy of welded products using various measuring tools.
  • Notify Plant Supervisor of non-conforming parts.
  • Adhere to company safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties in the plant as requested.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of welding experience.
  • Prior experience in completing weld certification tests.
  • Ability to utilize micrometers, calipers, and scales.
  • Detail-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Demands
  • Frequent movement, including walking, standing, bending, and lifting.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Perform duties while wearing personal protective equipment.
  • Work in temperature zones that may include hot environments and dusty areas.
