Job Overview

Position Title: Quick Lube Technician

Department: Service

Reports To: Service Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (Additional hours may be required based on business needs).

Position Summary

The Quick Lube Technician is responsible for executing routine oil changes and lubrication services as assigned, ensuring high-quality service and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

The essential duties of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Welcoming customers in a timely and courteous manner.
  • Executing oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication tasks as per service guidelines with precision and efficiency.
  • Conducting inspections and reporting any necessary maintenance or replacements, including air filters.
  • Checking and replenishing fluid levels as needed.
  • Completing follow-up stickers and placing them on the windshield.
  • Maintaining a tidy and organized work environment.
  • Documenting all work performed accurately.
  • Performing quality checks on completed work.
  • Participating in training sessions to enhance skills.
  • Staying updated with factory technical bulletins.
  • Ensuring the cleanliness of customers' vehicles during service.
  • Complying with federal, state, and local regulations regarding waste disposal.
Qualifications

To be successful in this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Education and Experience: A minimum of six months to one year of relevant technical training and/or experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Proficient in writing routine reports and communicating effectively with customers and colleagues.
  • Reasoning Ability: Capable of solving practical problems and interpreting various instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must possess a current, valid driver's license and have a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
Physical Requirements

The physical demands of this position include:

  • Regularly standing, sitting, using hands, reaching, climbing, and communicating.
  • Occasionally walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
  • Regularly lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and peripheral vision.
Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, employees may be exposed to:

  • Moving mechanical parts and airborne particles.
  • Toxic or caustic chemicals, electrical hazards, and vibrations.
  • High noise levels typical of an automotive service environment.
