Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Pathologist to join our Inpatient Acute Care Service team at Cook Children's Medical Center. As a key member of our rehabilitation team, you will provide essential speech and language services to pediatric patients with feeding and swallowing disorders, articulation, voice, resonance, fluency, and receptive/expressive language disorders.

Responsibilities
  • Provide evaluation, treatment, and home programming for pediatric patients with feeding and swallowing disorders, articulation, voice, resonance, fluency, and receptive/expressive language disorders.
  • Collaborate with radiologists to provide swallow function studies for inpatients and outpatients.
  • Develop and implement patient and caregiver education programs to promote optimal communication and swallowing outcomes.
  • Consult with medical professionals, clinics, and agencies to ensure comprehensive care for our patients.
  • Document and maintain accurate records of patient services and correspondence.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Speech/Language Pathology.
  • At least 2 years of pediatric feeding/swallowing experience in an acute pediatric hospital preferred.
  • CPR Certification.
  • State license or eligible for state licensure.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competency in Speech/Language Pathology or eligible for application upon completion of Clinical Fellowship Year.
