Position Overview:
The Operations Financial Analyst is an integral part of the Financial Planning and Analysis - Operations team, reporting directly to the Manager of FP&A - Operations. This role involves actively engaging with assigned accounts through financial analysis, forecasting, production evaluation, pricing model assessment, and personnel cost management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain regular communication with regional managers and divisional leadership.
  • Understand the sales organization structure and hierarchy.
  • Utilize financial reporting systems to analyze branch expenses, revenues, and financial statements.
  • Present financial statement analyses to leadership.
  • Contribute to the monthly financial analysis shared with senior leadership.
  • Articulate departmental priorities to senior management through data compilation.
  • Collaborate with sales management and branch support staff to assess exception requests.
  • Analyze and approve expense reimbursement submissions.
  • Provide financial justification for headcount requests and personnel changes, supporting decisions with cost center financials.
  • Participate in the review of discretionary bonus requests.
  • Examine origination pipelines and project proforma income statements.
  • Review marketing expenditure requests.
  • Conduct breakeven analyses for assigned accounts.
  • Serve as a liaison between corporate financial reporting and operations to communicate corporate financial statements to management.
  • Stay informed about industry trends through the review of publications and SEC filings of publicly traded companies.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience in the mortgage industry.
  • 1-3 years of experience in the mortgage sector, corporate finance, financial services, or financial statement analysis.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with intermediate to advanced Excel modeling skills.
  • Familiarity with loan origination software and Loan Vision is preferred.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, teamwork, and relationship management abilities.
  • Excellent prioritization and time management skills.
