General Summary

Provide essential support to our HVAC Technicians in maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, cleaning, and installing air handling, air cleaning, and refrigeration equipment. This includes working with associated controls, sub-systems, mechanical and electrical devices, including high and low voltage equipment. You'll inspect buildings, facilities, and equipment, recommending necessary repairs to ensure optimal functionality.

Core Responsibilities

  • Assist HVAC Technicians in upholding the highest standards of maintenance for all HVAC systems, components, fixtures, and equipment. Adhere to established practices and manufacturers' requirements.
  • Respond promptly to trouble calls, work orders, or specific instructions from supervisors by repairing systems, components, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Utilize readily available tools and materials to resolve issues as quickly as possible. Communicate any unresolved problems to your supervisor immediately.
  • Actively learn and develop proficiency in performing the following tasks under the guidance of experienced HVAC Technicians:
    • Deliver exceptional guest service, embodying our commitment to providing a positive experience for all guests.
    • Perform any other related duties as assigned by your supervisor.
  • Diagnose malfunctions in apparatus such as air conditioners, motors, and air cleaning equipment. Replace damaged or broken parts effectively.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance professionals, including supervisors, electricians, and maintenance staff, to diagnose the root cause of machinery malfunctions.
  • Demonstrate expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and replacing faulty electronic components.
  • Replace electric motor bearings accurately and efficiently.
  • Plan the layout of HVAC equipment, ducts, fans, and thermostats with precision.
  • Diagnose and replace faulty refrigeration equipment in coolers and walk-in refrigeration units to ensure proper operation.
  • May assist with estimating, material takeoffs, project specifications, and blueprints as needed.

Interaction

  • Maintain a positive and professional demeanor when interacting with both internal and external guests at all times.

Supervision

  • This role does not involve supervising others.

Education/Certification

  • Completion of an apprentice program from an accredited educational facility is preferred.
  • A California driver's license is preferred.

Experience

  • 0 to 1 year of related experience in residential, commercial, and industrial HVAC construction is beneficial.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Possess a strong understanding and practical experience in the installation and repair of HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in construction techniques and best practices.
  • Exhibit excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Maintain a commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
