Samaritas is seeking a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our food service team, you will be responsible for preparing meals and coordinating kitchen and mealtime activities in accordance with Center guidelines.
Responsibilities- Prepare meals and coordinate kitchen and mealtime activities in accordance with Center guidelines.
- Maintain current knowledge of and prepare meals in accordance with planned menus and established health, safety and portion control regulations and procedures.
- Assure meals are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
- Utilize and coordinate residents and/or volunteers in meal preparation, kitchen and dining room duties.
- Assist in budgeting and purchasing functions; monitor and maintain adequate inventory of food and supplies.
- Store food properly in a safe and sanitary fashion.
- Assure that adequate levels of supplies and food are maintained.
- Coordinate and assist in daily cleaning and sanitation of kitchen and dining room.
- Monitor kitchen and dining room for safety issues and equipment needs; report hazards immediately to supervisor.
- Assist in food preparation for special events and parties.
- High school diploma preferred.
- Successful completion of ServSafe training.
- One year experience working in a commercial or institution kitchen creating menus and ordering supplies.
