Position Overview

A prominent Investment Firm is in search of a Head of Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting. Key Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee the preparation and submission of Forms 10-Q and 10-K, ensuring accuracy in footnotes, MD&A, XBRL tagging, and comprehensive reviews.
  2. Prepare, review, and/or file various SEC documents, including Forms S-3, S-8, 8-K, proxy statements, and Forms 3, 4, and 5.
  3. Coordinate the completion of external reporting tasks and maintain thorough documentation for all areas, including GAAP and SEC checklists.
  4. Manage the SEC reporting calendar and facilitate the review process with key stakeholders, including the Executive Committee.
  5. Review earnings releases, scripts for earnings calls, and presentations for investors.
  6. Address FASB proposals and SEC rule changes that may affect the organization.
  7. Assist in responding to SEC comment letters.
  8. Participate in meetings for the Company's Disclosure Committee and Audit Committee.
  9. Support the preparation of financial materials for presentations to the Audit Committee, Board of Directors, and Senior Management.
  10. Help manage internal controls and compliance programs, supporting SOX compliance initiatives.
  11. Collaborate with business partners on various transactions to ensure relevant accounting issues are identified, documented, and communicated effectively.
  12. Work with external auditors on complex transactions to ensure proper accounting treatment.
  13. Evaluate and document new accounting guidance from FASB, SEC, and other regulatory bodies, collaborating with business leaders for implementation.
  14. Develop formal accounting policies that align with business operations and relevant accounting standards.
  15. Lead initiatives aimed at improving the efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting and internal controls.
  16. Provide oversight for equity accounting.
  17. Assist with month-end closing processes and the preparation of monthly financial packages.
Qualifications:
  • CPA certification is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in Big 4 audit is preferred.
  • Must be a dedicated team player, adaptable to changes in a dynamic environment.
  • Self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
  • Capable of working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
