Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and process blood and other body fluids for testing
  • Operate laboratory equipment and computer systems
  • Register patients and obtain demographic and financial information
  • Verify medical necessity for Medicare patients
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and accuracy
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certification/Licenses: Must be certified in phlebotomy
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience: Relevant laboratory experience preferred
Work Environment

The Laboratory Assistant will work in a well-lit, ventilated area with exposure to disagreeable odors, toxic fumes, and high noise levels. The role requires standing, sitting, and stooping throughout the shift, as well as safe waist-high lifting and transferring of patients.
