  • Engage in process hazard analysis (PHA) reviews as necessary to meet project objectives.
  • Contribute to project closeout activities, including collecting and organizing documentation related to controls.
  • Be prepared to travel up to 10-15% of your work time for site visits during the design phase to assess existing conditions and identify engineering and coordination challenges.
Required qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Industrial, Industrial Technology, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5-8 years of engineering experience in process controls design.
  • Familiarity with agricultural, industrial, and food/beverage processes.
  • Proficiency in controlling mechanical equipment, such as steam boilers, cooling towers, HVAC systems, pumps, and heat exchangers.
  • Knowledge of electrical design for process instrumentation and control panels (DCS and PLC).
  • Experience in selecting and specifying process measurement instruments (flow, pressure, temperature, level) and control devices (control valves).
  • Proficient in interpreting and designing functional and logic diagrams.
  • Understanding of modern process control systems (hardware and software) functionality, including compatibility requirements for migration or integration of external control systems and communication protocols.
  • Experience in a consulting firm is preferred.
