Phlebotomist - Plasma Collection Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at CSL Plasma. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for the efficient and effective collection of plasma from donors by performing venipuncture, monitoring the pheresis process, and following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Key Responsibilities- Perform venipuncture on donors to begin the pheresis process, ensuring compliance with SOPs and FDA guidelines.
- Evaluate vein performance to identify potential issues and make necessary corrections to expedite donation time and ensure product quality and donor safety.
- Ensure the donation process is efficient and make adjustments as needed to provide a positive experience for donors.
- May educate new donors on the use of therapeutic products made from donated plasma.
- Explain the screening process, health screening tests, appointment system, donation fees, center policies, proper nutrition, and other relevant information to donors.
- Respond to and resolve complex equipment alarms or donor issues, troubleshoot equipment failures, and create incident documentation.
- Monitor donor flow on the donor floor to ensure continuous turnover and alert the Group Leader or Supervisor of any issues.
- Collect arm samples or whole blood samples from donors for testing and ensure accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum eighteen (12) months experience in a medical or healthcare environment preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to complete routine forms or conduct routine oral communications, understand, remember, and communicate routine, factual information.
- Must be able to see and speak with customers and observe equipment operation.
- Occasionally perform tasks while standing and walking up to 100% of the time, reach, bend, kneel, and have a high level of manual dexterity.
- Occasionally required to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
