Role Overview:
As the Vice President of Engineering, you will:

  • Lead the comprehensive development of manufacturable products, including building systems and subsystems, while integrating systems design, manufacturing, and quality assurance programs.
  • Establish and execute strategic objectives for the design and engineering of modular building sub-assemblies, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and promoting a culture of innovation and efficiency.
  • Oversee the entire design process of modular building units, guaranteeing seamless integration with architectural designs and applying Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DfMA) principles for optimization.
  • Provide expert advice on technical matters such as structural integrity and material selection, while remaining informed about trends and advancements in modular construction.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and manufacturing teams to create cohesive design solutions, aligning design processes with the supply chain for effective component fabrication.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant building codes and quality standards, while supervising the development of detailed 3D models and comprehensive product specifications.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively, regularly assessing project progress and implementing enhancements.
  • Lead and nurture a diverse team of designers and engineers, fostering an environment conducive to professional growth and collaborative success.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, presenting design concepts and updates to senior management and ensuring alignment with project objectives.
  • Develop and implement standards for the Assembly OSM Bill of Design, promoting a clear and inclusive Design Validation plan.
  • Support feasibility studies and cost reduction initiatives, establishing key product interfaces and characteristics to enhance manufacturability and reliability.
  • Drive and support research and development efforts surrounding new materials and technologies.
  • Encourage a culture of trust and growth within the organization.

Qualifications:
Applicants should possess:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related field, with extensive experience in product design and engineering, particularly in offsite manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DfMA) techniques and practices.
  • A proven track record of effective leadership and team management, with strong project management skills.
  • Proficiency in CAD and 3D modeling software, along with exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and a critical thinking mindset.
  • A commitment to staying current with industry advancements and experience in working with distributed supply chains.

Compensation:
The compensation range for this position is $150k - $250k per year.
