Denver Public Schools is seeking a skilled Construction Quality Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Construction Services department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of our plumbing construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Control/Quality Assurance: Actively participate in the quality control/quality assurance program, including review of all projects from design through execution, documentation, progress reporting, conflict resolution, and final acceptance of projects on behalf of the Operations and Maintenance Department.
  • Advisory Support: Serve in an advisory support role to Construction Services about maintenance of construction and installation control methods and documentation (Standards), including updating and revising documentation to match current technology.
  • Cost Savings: Evaluate new/alternate methods and materials as a cost-saving measure.
  • Reporting and Coordination: Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly tracking reports related to project review, inspection, issue resolution, and compliance documentation. Coordinate issue resolution with the Construction Services Project Manager and the Supervisor of Construction Quality.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Consult/coordinate with Facility Planning, Construction Services, Engineering, contracted Architects and Engineers, contractors, and factory representatives as necessary. Monitor all projects for safety compliance.

Requirements:

  • Education and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Minimum of five (5) years experience working in the Plumbing field on multiple facilities maintenance organizations with multiple building trades in a public or private organization.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Two (2) years training and/or equivalent experience in cost estimating, blueprint reading, business, and public and customer relations. Must hold and maintain a valid Colorado Driver's License and have an acceptable driving record for the past three years.
  • Cultural Competence: Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community, along with believing in and supporting all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high-quality education.
  • Residency and Physical Demands: Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us. Have the ability with or without accommodations to meet the physical demands of the position.
