Job Overview

Organization Summary: Service Coordination, Inc. (SCI) is dedicated to supporting individuals with disabilities, behavioral challenges, complex medical needs, transitioning youth, the elderly, and various other populations through specialized case management and care management models.

Position Overview: Reporting to the Compliance Officer (Vice President of Operations), the Compliance Manager is responsible for ensuring that the organization's policies, procedures, and operations adhere to legal, ethical, and regulatory compliance standards. This role is essential in assisting Team Members to deliver high-quality, effective, and efficient person-centered case management services. The Compliance Manager will facilitate the organization’s regulatory compliance and audit preparedness by conducting regular internal audits and participating in investigations related to compliance issues identified through the incident reporting system. Staying informed about changes in regulatory standards and ensuring that training requirements are updated accordingly is also a key responsibility. The Compliance Manager will supervise Compliance Team Members.

Expectations for SCI Team Members: All team members at SCI are expected to uphold the organization's mission, core values, and policies; comply with HIPAA and confidentiality protocols; collaborate effectively with colleagues and leadership; actively engage in meetings and training sessions; adhere to employment laws and regulations; practice self-direction and person-centered planning; and promote a culture that values diversity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee internal audits and monitoring processes to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, organizational policies, and industry best practices.
  • Provide corrective action recommendations and track the implementation of these actions.
  • Assist in preparing for external and internal compliance audits.
  • Support the organization in responding to regulatory findings and assist in the documentation of responses as necessary.
  • Communicate compliance concerns and expectations from regulatory and legal agencies as part of ongoing education and training.
  • Collaborate closely with Team Members to ensure adherence to compliance standards.
  • Contribute to the development of compliance-related procedures and metrics.
  • Assist in preparing compliance reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct impartial investigations into alleged violations of compliance protocols.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of program-specific regulations and laws.
  • Help develop an effective compliance training program.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Manage the daily activities of Compliance Team Members.
  • Mentor and support the professional development of direct reports.
  • Supervise task prioritization and completion among Compliance Team Members.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or a related field.

Preferred Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a regulated environment (healthcare, child welfare).
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience collaborating with multi-functional teams.
  • Prior experience in regulatory compliance investigations is preferred.
  • Experience in compliance auditing and monitoring is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications and other relevant technologies.
