- Collaboration and Teamwork: Work closely with colleagues to implement effective instructional strategies, share best practices, and support student success.
- Student Support: Provide individualized support to students, analyze data to inform instruction, and drive academic outcomes.
- Communication and Community Building: Develop and maintain strong relationships with students, families, and staff, and contribute to the planning and execution of school-wide events.
- Teaching Experience: Urban elementary teaching experience, with a strong background in education and subject area expertise.
- Certifications and Credentials: NYS or equivalent Teaching Certification (1-6 or Middle Grades) with coursework in education, and Special Education Certification highly preferred.
- Subject Area Expertise: Exceptional knowledge of relevant statewide standards, such as Common Core and NGSS.
- Leadership and Collaboration: Proven ability to thrive in a startup environment, excel in a fast-paced and dynamic school setting, and demonstrate a sense of humor and kindness towards colleagues.
- Bilingual or Multilingual: Advanced proficiency in one or more languages, including Spanish.
- Music Performance or Education: Experience in music performance or education, with a strong background in music theory and pedagogy.
- Project-Based Learning and Inquiry-Based Learning: Experience with project-based and inquiry-based learning approaches, with a strong understanding of how to design and implement effective projects.
