Position Overview:


ECS Limited is excited to present an exceptional opportunity for a skilled Certified Welding Quality Inspector (CWI) to become a part of our dynamic team.

In this role, you will engage in a variety of projects, conducting field evaluations and inspections, with potential involvement in steel assessments through both destructive and non-destructive testing (NDT).

Key Responsibilities:

Field Operations:

Carry out observations, testing, inspections, and sampling of diverse construction materials, including soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel; Perform tasks as per project specifications under the supervision of senior technicians, professional staff, and project managers; Inspections may also take place in manufacturing facilities.


Testing Protocols:

Execute routine assessments of structural and reinforcing steel, including welded or bolted connections utilizing various methodologies and testing apparatus, adhering to industry standards for documentation and compliance.


Data Management:

Conduct calculations and data analysis based on sampling, test outcomes, and inspections; Participate in drafting and other administrative tasks as necessary; Ensure organization of field equipment and inform supervisors of any damaged or missing tools as needed.


Communication:

Maintain consistent communication with site contractors, fellow technicians, and project managers, keeping the team updated on evolving site conditions and any requests for additional testing; Attend project meetings as required.


Training and Growth:

Receive training in ECS methodologies for project evaluations, inspections, and testing; Accurately document findings in accordance with established engineering practices.

Candidate Profile:
Required Qualifications

2+ years of relevant experience.

High School diploma or GED.


Must possess or be willing to obtain 2 relevant specialty certifications from recognized industry authorities such as NRC, NICET, WACEL, ACI, IFC, AWS, ASNT, ASTM (other authorities may be considered at ECS discretion).

Position entails carrying 40 – 70 lbs multiple times daily or occasionally lifting 85 lbs to waist height.

Must hold a valid driver's license and insurance.

Must provide appropriate transportation for job site use – Mileage will be reimbursed.

Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing).

Working knowledge of destructive and non-destructive testing principles, applications, and standards.

Good understanding of heavy construction safety practices and procedures.

Ability to perform work at heights.

Proficiency with electronic devices such as phones, tablets, and laptops.

Functional ability to read and interpret engineering and construction plans.

Basic knowledge of MS Office.

If your focus is NDE testing, you should have the ability to calibrate NDE equipment.
