Position Title: Advanced Imaging Technologist - Computed Tomography - Evening Shift

General Overview:

The Advanced Imaging Technologist is responsible for executing both routine and specialized computed tomography (CT) imaging procedures at a proficient level. This role involves generating detailed tomographic images of specific anatomical regions in accordance with established protocols and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts CT imaging studies; gathers patient medical history, clarifies standard procedures, and addresses any patient inquiries.
  • Under the direct oversight of a physician, administers intravenous contrast agents, identifies potential complications (such as contrast reactions), and provides appropriate interventions.
  • Coordinates scheduling of imaging cases to align with other diagnostic examinations.
  • Ensures patient comfort during positioning and transfers.
  • Utilizes immobilization techniques as necessary and adheres to radiation safety protocols.
  • Serves as an on-call technologist and provides training for new personnel. Must have successfully completed the CT specialty examination as per ARRT standards.
  • May perform duties of a Radiographer as required.
  • Maintains accurate documentation as mandated by professional and departmental guidelines.

Common Expectations:

  • Exhibits understanding of growth and development principles relevant to the assigned patient demographic. Evaluates and interprets age-specific data to deliver suitable treatment.
  • Demonstrates commitment to safety for patients, visitors, and staff by adhering to all safety regulations, understanding the implications of medical errors, and participating in safety training and root cause analyses.
  • Upholds established policies, objectives, quality assessments, and safety standards.
  • Engages in professional development through educational programs, current literature, and workshops.
  • Delivers exceptional service to all stakeholders; promotes teamwork and practices fiscal responsibility through innovation.
  • Supervises and assesses students in clinical training environments.
  • Requests and manages inventory of supplies to ensure availability.
  • Effectively segments and archives imaging studies within the PACS system.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of workspaces and patient areas.

Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is required.

Licensure:

  • Registered Technologist in Computed Tomography - ARRT is required upon hire or
  • Certification in Computed Tomography - NMTCB is required upon hire and
  • Basic Life Support certification is required upon hire.

Education:

  • Completion of an accredited program in radiologic technology with training in computed tomography procedures is required upon hire.
