Position Summary
As a National Service Estimator, you will be instrumental in assessing project needs, estimating costs, and preparing precise bids for commercial roofing initiatives. Your knowledge of roofing systems and construction practices, combined with strong analytical skills, will be vital for the successful delivery of projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Evaluation: Conduct thorough reviews of project specifications and drawings to understand the scope of work. Perform site evaluations to assess existing conditions and identify potential challenges.
- Cost Estimation: Analyze subcontractor proposals for accuracy and completeness. Estimate material quantities, labor, and equipment needs based on project requirements. Utilize industry benchmarks and historical data to prepare competitive cost estimates.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project management to ensure alignment between estimates and execution plans. Communicate effectively with subcontractors and suppliers to clarify specifications and obtain accurate pricing.
- Cost Control: Identify cost-saving opportunities through value engineering. Monitor project costs to ensure adherence to budget throughout the project lifecycle.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of estimates and supporting documentation. Prepare reports on estimation activities, including bid success rates and profit margins.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in estimating within the commercial roofing or construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of roofing systems and installation techniques.
- Proficiency in estimating software and tools.
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
