Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Student Activity Assistant to join our team at the University of New Mexico-Taos. As a Student Activity Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the planning and execution of student events, cultural programming, and activities on campus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Attend weekly meetings with the student activities team to discuss event planning and coordination.
  • Assemble and arrange cultural engagement displays around campus to promote diversity and inclusion.
  • Prepare rooms for student events, ensuring that all necessary equipment is set up and functioning properly.
  • Ensure the proper use, storage, and maintenance of all audio-visual and meeting room equipment.
  • Maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness in all areas of the event center.
  • Serve as the on-site point of contact for events and activities as needed.
Requirements
  • Be a degree-seeking student enrolled in 6 credit hours or more during the academic semester.
  • Ability to contribute to, follow, and enforce system and procedures.
  • Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects.
  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility.
  • Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
  • Ability to understand written and verbal communications.
