Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated MRI Imaging Specialist to enhance our MRI Department.

ROLE SUMMARY:

The MRI Imaging Specialist is tasked with evaluating the Physician Order and the rationale for the examination, preparing patients, positioning them appropriately, and executing MRI imaging procedures. This role requires a profound understanding of MRI/MRA technology and the relevant clinical indicators necessary for the examinations. The specialist may modify scanning protocols based on the anatomical and physiological characteristics observed during the imaging process. Collaboration with MRI leadership and Radiologists is essential to ensure the production of high-quality diagnostic images in line with departmental protocols. The role also involves administering contrast media as dictated by specific diagnostic protocols and assisting physicians or advanced practice providers during MRI-guided invasive procedures. This position demands a variety of technical tasks that require independent judgment, integrity, and initiative, while working with minimal supervision.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Completion of an accredited MRI Technologist program is preferred.
  • Advanced certification in MRI from ARRT or ARMRIT; OR MRI Registry-eligible with certification to be obtained within one year of employment.
  • Maintain Continuing Education credits (24 CEU in two-year period) and other requirements to uphold ARRT certification.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
  • One year of MRI experience is preferred.
  • Proficient understanding of cross-sectional anatomy is essential.
  • Skilled in venipuncture techniques.
  • Knowledgeable in the setup and operation of MRI equipment.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional communication skills and a commitment to providing excellent customer service to patients and various levels of hospital personnel.
