About the Role

We are seeking a skilled System Test Engineer to join our team at Trane Technologies. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the seamless integration and functionality of complex systems and software applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze functional requirements to generate comprehensive test cases.
  • Write functional test procedures and automated test scripts to provide thorough testing of product requirements.
  • Execute test procedures and automated test scripts as part of formal product testing.
  • Leverage matrix setup for automation testing and review test results regularly.
  • Help build and maintain controls lab facilities, including matrix setup and test hardware.
  • Manage lab test requests and maintain data analytics operations reports.
  • Assist in developing test frameworks when necessary.
  • Help advance testing tools, technology, and processes within Controls Engineering.
  • Make recommendations for improving the product testing process.
  • Support ongoing test efforts in various labs within RS.
  • Conduct exploratory testing based on detailed knowledge of the product under test.
  • Perform confidence testing to support smooth field trial testing execution.
  • Report product issues within the defect tracking system.
  • Verify product defect fixes in various releases.
  • Represent system test group during IDR's.
  • Lead daily standups and resolve blockers.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related discipline preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in engineering or related discipline, with strong knowledge of HVAC domain.
  • Must understand and adhere to safety measures when working with electrical equipment.
  • Should have demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with others in writing and orally.
  • Course work or experience in current test methodologies, quality assurance practices, and object-oriented and component-based product development desired.
  • Experience with automated testing and programming desired.
  • Experience testing and configuring embedded controllers desired.
  • Candidates without a 4-year degree encouraged to apply; we prioritize practical experience, relevant skills, and alignment with our leadership principles.
