We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Software Engineer to join our Chief Technology Office's Global Technology & Applied Research team at JPMorgan Chase. As a seasoned member of an agile team, you will design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way.
Your responsibilities will include leading quantum software projects, ideating and implementing a quantum software strategy, developing and maintaining software implementing quantum algorithms and integrating them with error correction and fault tolerance, and working with quantum algorithm researchers to support their research efforts by providing reliable software implementations of algorithms.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills include formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience, proficiency in Python, experience developing quantum software (e.g., Qiskit, PennyLane, Cirq), and experience leading software projects.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills include experience implementing quantum algorithms for optimization (e.g., QAOA, quantum adiabatic algorithm, quantum walks), experience implementing quantum algorithms for machine learning (e.g., quantum algorithms for linear systems, PCA, classification), and experience in compilation of quantum algorithms to fault-tolerant architectures.
We offer a competitive total rewards package including base salary determined based on the role, experience, skill set, and location. For those in eligible roles, we offer discretionary incentive compensation which may be awarded in recognition of firm performance and individual achievements and contributions.
