Position Overview:

The role involves the safe and efficient operation of a tanker truck, focusing on the transportation of water from designated sites to treatment facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a 4,000-gallon tanker truck with precision.
  • Utilize diesel water pumps for filling and emptying the truck at designated locations.
  • Transport water to treatment facilities while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Manage the process of attaching and detaching hoses for water transfer, ensuring efficiency throughout the day.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections, maintaining detailed reports as required.
  • Report any mechanical issues to the appropriate personnel without delay.
  • Adhere to all safety standards and regulations during vehicle operation.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle, both inside and out.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Understanding of truck components and maintenance requirements.
  • Proficient in operating necessary vehicles and equipment.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations relevant to the job.
  • Capable of producing simple reports and documentation.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow written instructions and company policies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Familiarity with air brake systems on trucks.
  • Ability to operate vehicles with a maximum weight of 80,000 lbs.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL), Class A or B required.
  • Tanker endorsement is mandatory.
  • Minimum age of 21 years.
  • At least one year of commercial driving experience or completion of a CDL training program.
  • Must meet safety-sensitive function criteria as per company standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to safely operate the truck and associated equipment.

Physical and Mental Demands:

  • Ability to perform various physical tasks including lifting and maneuvering.
  • Visual acuity for safe vehicle operation in various conditions.
  • Capacity to lift and move weights ranging from 10 to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to work in loud environments and under varying weather conditions.

Working Conditions:

  • Exposure to loud noises and outdoor environments.
  • Frequent operation in high-traffic conditions.
  • Work may involve climbing and navigating precarious locations.
