Job Summary

Kindred Healthcare is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team in a per diem capacity. As a Certified Nursing Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing patient care and supporting our clinical team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist professional nursing personnel in providing patient care in assigned areas, including activities of daily living, personal care, and emotional support.
  • Provide general nursing care, such as positioning patients, lifting, turning, and applying/utilizing special equipment.
  • Take and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, height, blood pressure, and intake and output measurements.
  • Prepare patient rooms and beds for admission and transfers, ensuring all necessary equipment is in place.
  • Assist with patient admission, transfer, and discharge procedures, including handling and care of patient belongings.
  • Respond to patient call lights, telephone, and paging system, and respond accordingly.
  • Perform routine treatment procedures, such as enemas, under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
  • Release, remove, and reapply restraints to patients under the direction of an RN, ensuring proper positioning and alignment.
  • Assist Registered Nurses and/or LVNs/LPNs with complicated patient treatment procedures.
  • Serve and remove patient meal trays in a timely manner, and assist with feeding and/or preparing items for patients.
Requirements
  • Current Nursing Assistant Certification
  • BLS Certification
  • Minimum six months' experience in acute or long-term care facilities
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Able to organize tasks, develop action plans, set priorities, and function under stressful situations
