Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cafeteria Worker/Cook to join our team. As a Cafeteria Worker/Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals to students, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment, and ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus and recipes.
  2. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including equipment, utensils, and storage areas.
  3. Ensure food quality and safety by following proper handling, storage, and serving procedures.
  4. Assist with food inventory management, ordering supplies, and maintaining accurate records.
  5. Collaborate with the manager to plan and implement special events and menus.
  6. Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Food service certification or eligibility to obtain certification.
  • Ability to lift and move objects weighing at least 50 pounds.
  • Basic math skills and ability to follow recipes and instructions.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Working Conditions:

This is a full-time position with a 180-day contract. The work schedule will vary, with hours per day and week varying accordingly.

Benefits:

Boone County Schools offers a competitive salary range of $14.07-$19.57 per hour, depending on experience. Additionally, employees are eligible for benefits, including paid holidays and a 20-hour workweek.
