Position Overview:

Collaborative Support Programs, a dedicated nonprofit organization in the mental health sector, is seeking a full-time Community Development Coordinator. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role encompasses the comprehensive management of grant development, evaluation, and compliance. Key responsibilities include conducting research, crafting pre-award grant proposals, coordinating grant submissions, providing post-award support for funded initiatives, overseeing the grant reporting process, and effectively concluding grant projects with final budget and outcome reports for stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement programs aimed at enhancing community-based services and housing development projects, including agency grant writing, program formulation, and inter-agency collaboration at various governmental levels.
  • Conduct thorough research and prepare grant and funding applications focusing on housing, community support services, peer-delivered services, and related initiatives.
  • Proactively identify and analyze grant opportunities, providing recommendations regarding their viability.
  • Manage annual applications and renewals for the US Department of Housing and Urban Development Homeless Assistance and The Continuum of Care in collaboration with executive leadership, the Housing Director, project partners, and local HUD representatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, or Creative Writing.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in grant writing.
  • Prior experience in a nonprofit or mental health organization is preferred.
  • Familiarity with community resources related to mental health programs as they pertain to grant writing and execution.
  • Understanding of foundational fundraising techniques and strategies, along with advocacy and networking skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of grant writing processes at both state and federal levels.
  • Experience in fast-paced, deadline-oriented environments.
  • Exceptional written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, structured, and persuasive proposals.
  • Strong editing capabilities, ensuring excellent spelling and grammar.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer literacy.
  • A valid Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Lived Experience: CSPNJ prioritizes hiring individuals who utilize their personal experiences with mental health or substance use challenges to inspire and support others.

Compensation: Yearly Salary
