AVP, Risk Management

About the Role:

Everest Insurance Company is seeking an experienced Assistant Vice President to join our New York office. As a key member of our Risk Management team, you will be responsible for underwriting and pricing loss-sensitive casualty business, establishing and maintaining broker relationships, and developing business strategies to drive submission flow and binding of profitable business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize authority to underwrite and price loss-sensitive casualty business for Workers Compensation, Commercial General Liability, and Commercial Auto Liability, adhering to divisional underwriting guidelines.
  • Establish and maintain broker relationships in the Northeast region, focusing on primary casualty business.
  • Develop and execute business strategies to drive submission flow and binding of profitable business.
  • Lead the training and development of more junior underwriting staff.
  • Collaborate with home office, marketing, and distribution teams to develop and maintain a profitable portfolio of primary casualty insurance placements.

Requirements:

  • College degree preferred, with a minimum of 8-10 years of experience underwriting primary casualty loss-sensitive insurance.
  • CPCU, CRIS, ARM, or other insurance certifications are a plus.
  • Experience and/or expertise in working with a broad array of program structures, including guaranteed cost, large deductibles, and captives.
  • Existing relationships with Northeast brokers handling primary casualty business.
  • Possess strong presentation, communication, and business development skills.

Compensation and Benefits:

The base salary range for this position is $150,000 - $215,000 annually, based on individual education, experience, qualifications, and work location.
