Cardinal Civil Resources is seeking a highly skilled Estimator to join our dynamic and growing team. As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in supporting the business at large and improving workplace communication and efficiency. You will conduct yourself as a leader with high integrity and excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

  • Collect and analyze quotes from various suppliers, vendors, and contractors.
  • Identify and analyze labor, material costs, and time requirements by reviewing proposals, blueprints, project plans, and related documents.
  • Analyze company data, monitor budgets, and prices using software packages.
  • Determine the factors of production that influence the cost of a service or product.
  • Prepare detailed material estimates and cost estimates for projects.
  • Create labor estimates for any project.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with company vendors and contractors.
  • Manage bids from vendors and contractors.
  • Use bid data to prepare detailed cost analysis and estimate reports.
  • Present prepared estimates to management and other stakeholders.
  • Compile and record actual costs.
  • Review and assess cost estimates.
  • Source new business opportunities.
  • Manage win/loss tracking and reporting.
  • Manage competitor lists (cross-referenced with win/loss tracking).

Qualifications:

Education: Associate's degree in Business, Construction, or Engineering. Bachelor's degree preferred.

Experience: A minimum of 5 years of surveying experience (in and out of the office) and 5 years of site construction experience.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of Bluebeam Revu.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move 25/50/80 pounds regularly/occasionally.
  • Must be able to drive a vehicle safely regularly/occasionally.
  • Must be able to deal effectively and reasonably with stress in the workplace without lost time or undue strain.
  • Must be able to sit, walk, talk, and hear for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to type/key-in data and answer telephones frequently as needed.
  • Must have specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to focus.
  • Must be able to see and respond to hazardous situations.
  • Must be able to wear personal protective gear regularly/occasionally.
  • Physical ability to work including bending, squatting, reaching, stretching, sitting, standing, running, and climbing stairs.
  • Must adhere to company policies, safety plan, and project safety plan.
