- Provide instruction and guidance to individuals on physical conditioning and injury prevention, promoting a culture of wellness and safety.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure holistic human performance optimization, leveraging expertise to drive results.
- Assist with management of physical conditioning supply inventories, ensuring optimal equipment and facilities are maintained.
- Provide routine fitness reports to stakeholders, maintaining a professional relationship with medical support staff to resolve problem areas.
- Refer personnel with apparent new or undiagnosed medical conditions to seek medical attention, prioritizing patient care and safety.
- Understand the unit's mission and operator physical requirements, recognizing the impact of strength and conditioning on mission accomplishments.
- Complete all unit and MDG in-processing requirements, including computer-based trainings and job-specific trainings.
- Manage complex neuromuscular and musculoskeletal disorders, providing expert care and guidance to clients.
- Ensure patient privacy is respected and complies with HIPAA requirements, upholding the highest standards of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Perform work assignments in compliance with instructions, policies, and accepted practices of Defense Health Agency (DHA) and Medical Group requirements.
- Conduct required clinical and non-clinical administrative responsibilities, maintaining patient care records in accordance with DHA standards.
- Advise unit commanders on matters related to injury prevention and rehabilitation, identifying opportunities for improvement and developing protocols and SOPs.
- Advise unit commanders on administrative matters, purchasing of required supplies and equipment, and supplemental fiscal requests related to interventions and professional services provided.
- Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from a Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) accredited program.
- APTA Orthopedic or Sports Clinical Specialist Certification, or Orthopedic Residency/Fellowship Trained, or Advanced competency in dry needling level 2 and Manual Therapy Certification.
- Current (CPR) and (AED) trained.
- 5+ years of experience as an Outpatient Orthopedic Physical Therapist, with demonstrated experience in collegiate (or higher), professional, or tactical athletics; aerospace industry, test pilot/astronaut or similar man-machine high-performance environment.
