POSITION SUMMARY

This part-time role offers an opportunity to contribute to the upkeep of our community spaces. The ideal candidate will engage in various manual tasks as part of maintenance teams, ensuring that public areas are well-maintained and safe for community use.

Work Schedule

Monday-Thursday: 7:00 AM-11:30 AM
Friday-Monday: 7:00 AM-11:30 AM
(Working hours may vary based on departmental needs)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Public Works:

  • Manually washes vehicles and equipment, utilizing steam cleaning methods.
  • Maintains cleanliness of vehicle windows.
  • Checks and ensures vehicle accessories are in proper condition.
  • Empties trash receptacles.
  • Ensures the cleanliness of workspaces.
  • Performs additional related duties as assigned.

Administrative Services:

  • Assists in the operation and maintenance of duplicating equipment.
  • Restocks vending machines.
  • Handles supplies and equipment logistics.
  • Delivers items to various departments.
  • Maintains cleanliness in work areas.
  • Assists with the movement of furniture.
  • Performs other related tasks as required.

Parks and Recreation:

  • Assists in the setup of equipment and props for events.
  • Maintains cleanliness of designated areas.
  • Participates in park maintenance activities.
  • Completes other related tasks as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS

To be considered for this position, candidates should possess:

Education and Experience: A high school diploma or GED, along with a minimum of six months of full-time maintenance experience.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Understanding of safety protocols and practices.
  • Capability to build and maintain positive relationships with the public.

License/Certificate:

A valid work permit may be required for candidates under 18 and enrolled in high school. A valid California C driver's license that is insurable by the City's carrier may also be necessary.
