The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly skilled Pre-Award Grants Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our research administration team, you will play a critical role in identifying and securing funding opportunities for our faculty and researchers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and research funding opportunities to support faculty and research initiatives
  • Provide expert guidance and support to researchers in preparing and submitting grant proposals
  • Coordinate the development and submission of grant proposals, including budget preparation and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and guidelines
  • Collaborate with researchers, faculty, and staff to identify and pursue new funding opportunities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, science, or related field or equivalent level of training and/or experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in budgeting and financial management
  • Experience with proposal preparation and submission, including electronic fiscal and communications tools
  • Knowledge of policies and procedures of federal funding agencies
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organizational and prioritization abilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Research Administrator (CRA) certification
  • Experience with management tools such as Banner Finance, HRIS, and Microstrategy
  • Training and/or experience in technical writing and understanding of scientific research
