The Library Assistant will play a vital role in supporting the academic community at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. As a key member of the library team, you will be responsible for assisting guests with their inquiries about library public services and resources, as well as teaching guests how to effectively use the library.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to guests, responding to their inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Teach guests how to use the library's resources, including databases, online catalogs, and other digital tools.
  • Locate and retrieve materials for guests, including books, articles, and other research materials.
  • Assist with the interlibrary loan process, locating and sending materials to other libraries as needed.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of library programs and services that support the academic community.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with guests and colleagues.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with library software and systems.
