Job Title: Strategic Continuous Improvement Specialist

IMEC Illinois Manufacturing Excellence Center is seeking a highly skilled Strategic Continuous Improvement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in helping manufacturers in Illinois achieve operational excellence and stay competitive in the global market.

Job Summary:

The Strategic Continuous Improvement Specialist will be responsible for initiating and maintaining relationships with manufacturers, identifying their operational challenges and opportunities, and developing and executing long-term countermeasures in consultation with the manufacturers' teams. You will also work closely with our Client Engagement team to develop and promote IMEC's manufacturing improvement capabilities and resources.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct consultation to manufacturers in the areas of Transformational Strategic Lean and Continuous Improvement.
  • Manage project engagements, which may include Lean Policy Deployment, Lean Daily Management, Lean Tools such as 5S, Value Stream Mapping, etc., and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Work with third-party resources to deliver effective solutions.
  • Participate in IMEC's solution development and process improvement teams.
  • Assist in proposal development and participate in sales presentations.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree with 3+ years' experience working with manufacturing companies, with a career progression that includes leadership responsibility. Master's degree preferred.
  • Job-related experience in strategic lean and continuous improvement.
  • Strong problem-solving, project management skills, and decision-making skills.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Proven skills in coaching and mentoring others.
  • Strong relationship management skills.
