Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medication Technician to join our team at SR COMPANIES LLC. As a Medication Technician, you will play a vital role in enhancing the SRIM experience for our residents and their families by performing various duties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise self-administration of medication for residents.
  • Assist with ADL's, meal service, light housekeeping, and laundry while encouraging resident independence.
  • Speak to/interact with residents at all levels of care constantly, while showing empathy, kindness, compassion, and respect.
  • Observe and report to supervisor daily and all changes in the resident's health and emotional well-being.
  • Serve and assist residents in the dining room at breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily.
  • Responsible for initiating and participating in leisure activities provided to residents as described in the activity calendar.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment for all residents at all times.
  • Perform daily general housekeeping duties following established cleaning schedules.
  • Ensure and support a dignified and caring atmosphere for residents, families, visitors, and associates.
  • Always respond promptly and courteously to resident's requests for assistance including phone calls and requests from family members and visitors.
  • Communicate effectively in a language that each resident is capable of understanding.
  • Ensure residents and/or responsible parties sign residents out when they leave the community.
  • Maintain a safe and secure working environment free of objects/situations that could cause harm and/or falls to residents, families, visitors, and associates.
  • Practice good body mechanics and safe working habits at all times.
  • Observe and report safety hazards immediately to supervisor.
  • Provide assistance to associates when requested or required.
  • Know, understand, and follow established policies and procedures in emergency situations.
  • Responsible for being considered essential personnel during emergencies and/or inclement weather. Is required to report or remain at community until released by supervisor.
  • Work as a team player with other associates and management in accomplishing work assignments.
  • Demonstrate a positive and respectful attitude about work issues, policies, and procedures at all times.
  • Demonstrate a positive and respectful attitude with residents, families, visitors, associates and management at all times.
  • Comply with attendance and call off policy.
  • Attend and/or participate in trainings, in-service, and mandatory meetings.
  • Wear clean and appropriate dress per established dress code policy at all times.
  • Refrain from discussing resident care issues with families and visitors and refer all inquiries to immediate supervisor.
  • Know, understand, and comply with HIPAA regulations.
  • Assist with training of new employees.
  • Assist in mentoring new employees.
  • Take the initiative in work, seek out additional information, and offer solutions/suggestions, all without asking.
  • Take on special projects or assignments outside of regular duties willingly.
  • Provide a variety of housekeeping and/or laundry duties in maintaining the community in an orderly, clean, and sanitary condition.
  • Perform all other reasonable duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Language Ability

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Math Ability

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of word processing software and electronic medical records.

Education/Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates and Licenses

Medicine Technician (Med-Tech) certification
