Role Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the daily operations of the Central Sterile Department, including staffing, budgeting, and quality control.

• Supervise a team of caregivers, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their duties effectively.

• Develop and implement quality processes, safety programs, and customer service initiatives to ensure the highest level of patient care and satisfaction.

• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination of services.

• Stay up-to-date with regulatory and accrediting agency requirements, ensuring compliance and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.

• Certified Registered Central Sterile Technician (CRCST) certification required; other certifications may be beneficial.

• Minimum three years of managerial experience in a processing service that supports surgical service, general patient care service, or outpatient activity.

• Strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation, supplies, equipment, sterilizers, and sterilization processes.

• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
