A prominent financial services organization is seeking a seasoned professional to join their expanding team as a Financial Operations Manager. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Financial Operations Manager will play a pivotal role in supervising and managing the daily accounting operations of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

The Financial Operations Manager will be tasked with:

  • Managing payroll processing and administration, which includes overseeing ADP Workforce Now Time & Attendance, onboarding new employees, conducting payroll audits, and handling payroll tax reporting and reconciliations.
  • Ensuring the precise and timely completion of all financial reports and accounting statements.
  • Conducting monthly reconciliations and bookkeeping, preparing and submitting wire requests as necessary, and overseeing travel and entertainment expense accounting.
  • Actively ensuring the organization complies with regulatory net capital requirements.
  • Developing and maintaining robust accounting policies, processes, and systems to guarantee optimal controls for the organization.
  • Overseeing the monthly closing of the organization's financial records, the general ledger, and the reporting of financial outcomes.
  • Preparing weekly and monthly management reports on financial health, including revenue and expenses, along with financial commentary and recommendations.
  • Supervising accounts payable and receivable functions and expense allocations.
  • Assisting in managing both new and existing banking relationships and administrative tasks.
  • Supporting data collection for all tax filings and annual audit preparations.
  • Performing additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in accounting.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience as a broker-dealer FINOP professional.
  • Understanding of financial reporting systems, procedures, and controls.
  • Basic knowledge of internal controls.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • High attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
Preferred Skills:
  • CPA certification or completed sections.
  • Series 27 license.
  • Prior experience in an accounting role within a broker-dealer, clearing firm, or financial services sector.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics GP.
  • Experience in payroll management.
  • Proficiency in using ADP Workforce Now.
