  • Safety and Sanitation: Maintain sanitation and safety throughout the department, including the backroom, according to Lowes Foods standards, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our customers and employees.
  • Training and Development: Provide guidance, orientation, training, and feedback to ensure that our grocery department hosts achieve satisfactory performance standards, helping them to grow and develop in their roles.
  • Stocking and Guest Service: Perform product stocking and guest service as necessary to achieve standards, ensuring that our customers have a positive shopping experience and that our shelves are always fully stocked.
  • Staffing and Scheduling: Maintain department's staffing and scheduling standards, ensuring that we have the right people in the right roles at the right time.
  • Shrink Control: Control grocery shrink through proper implementation of the stock loss program, minimizing losses and maximizing profitability.
  • Pricing and Scanning: Ensure proper pricing and item scanning through price audits and proper scanning procedures, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our checkout process.
  • Backroom Maintenance: Ensure that the backroom is properly maintained, keeping our storage areas clean and organized.
  • Advertised Items: Ensure that advertised items are available, signed, and scanning correctly, maintaining a high level of accuracy and efficiency in our advertising and promotions.
  • Inventory Preparation: Help prepare the grocery department for grocery inventory, ensuring that our shelves are always fully stocked and our customers have access to the products they need.
  • Vendor Product Management: Work with the Store Manager, Grocery Manager, and Receiver to maintain product level and conditions associated with vendor product, ensuring that we have the right products in the right quantities at the right time.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform all other duties as assigned by management, taking on additional responsibilities as needed to support the success of our store.
Requirements
  • Personality: Friendly, outgoing personality with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work well with others, building strong relationships with colleagues and customers.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift 40 lbs. consistently and 60 lbs. occasionally, with the ability to bend, kneel, stand, push/pull stock carts, and operate a pallet jack for extended periods of time.
  • Reading and Understanding: Ability to read and understand information and direction, with a strong focus on attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Supermarket Knowledge: 1-3 years of supermarket knowledge and experience, with a strong understanding of grocery store operations and management.
  • Supervision: Ability to supervise people, including training and development, with a strong focus on leadership and management skills.
  • Technical Requirements: Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job, with a strong focus on adaptability and flexibility.
  • Communication and Selling Skills: Effective communication, guest service, and selling skills, with a strong focus on building strong relationships with customers and colleagues.
